As those of you who listened to last Sunday’s show will have noticed I didn’t actually do the show I had planned, so I could recycle that material and re-use it this week… I could but I won’t instead the theme of this weeks show is ‘how far is too far’ where I’ll discuss where it might be a good idea to draw a line in the world of Sonic fandom.
Once again everyone’s comments are welcome in the irc, or if not there you can email me at vger.ec[@]googlemail.com with your thoughts, show starts at 11am only on SSR!

I’ve run out of things to say at to introduce these trailers… anyway… this is an official trailer for the DS edition of Allstars racing which looks pretty snappy, I’ll even venture that it looks better than Mario Kart DS!

Okay this is getting ridiculous, but it always does this close to release of Sonic games, videos and traillers pop up everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. This latest one is peaking out from behind the official Nintendo magazine and is, yes you guessed it wii game play footage, enjoy!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to get the chance to preview Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing, but before I get started on my impressions of the game I’d like to note that the build I played is not the final one, and also the Xbox 360’s were operating in a highly humid environment with two of them already rendered inoperable by the time we got there, and as anyone who has a 360 can testify to they can be highly temperamental at the best of times. I say this now so that people fully understand the circumstances of this demo and not make any wild assumptions about the quality of the final product.
Now that that is out the way with hit the jump for my first impressions. (continue reading…)

Hmm, it seems that not a day goes by without a new interview/trailer/lifestyle video featuring Sonic and SEGA Allstars racing coming along… and today is no different. This time it’s the guys down at inside xbox interviewing Sumo Digital’s Steve Lycett, and Dave Blewett providing an interesting insight into the upcoming 360 release.

Wow I’m really getting sloppy, this trailer went up a few days ago and I’ve only now noticed it. Once again ‘real people’ are ‘playing’ the game but unlike the Wii trailer they got a voice over to do the talking instead of the ‘actors.’ A nice little showcase of what to look forward to, only another week and a half to go.
Hmm I’m rather intrigued by the PS3 wheel thing.

Now I don’t pretend to be an expert on roller-coasters, far from it, my experience extends as far as visiting a few theme parks and hours of time wasted on Roller-coaster Tycon (the first one, all later versions are rubbish), however roller-coasters are one of my passions. Perhaps a passion I don’t indulge in as much as I should but if I did then I’d have no time to keep track of the goings on in the world of Sonic (it’s a full time job… on top of a full time job).
As you should have noticed by now, I go the opportunity to have a go on the new Sonic Spinball ride at Alton Towers over the weekend and so what follows are a few of my thoughts on the ride. (continue reading…)

Just before I go to bed, a quick note to say that the US Nintendo channel has a demo up for Sonic and SEGA Allstars racing. The demo is the same level as the one that appeared on the xbox live demo last week, and is as far as I can recall the first time I have seen the DS version in action. The graphics appear to be on a par with Mario Kart DS if not a little better, and seems to be very similar in controls to the 360 version.

Okay I think I’ve finally run out of new and interesting ways to introduce the fact that I have just put up another set of ten issues worth of information, oh well another nine to go and then I’ll have to find something else.
