Today seems to be a very busy day for SEGA and Sonic, with it being the 10th birthday of the Dreamcast (EC Airwaves special episode tonight don’t forget to tune it at 8pm BST), and the announcement of a back to the roots Sonic game that’s looking to give the old school Sonic fans what they have been asking for, for the last god knows how many years. The teaser doesn’t give us much to go on other than it being back to 2D, in high definition (yay not on the wii!) and built from the ground up, view the trailer for yourself.
If you’ve been following Vger’s twitter adventures you’ll know a vague bit about where we have been and such. Full report to come from Vger soon.
Personally going to spend a few days recovering.
Oh and on a side note, the one thing Vger might leave out of his recollection of the events was neatly summarized by Turbo from the Turbo Drive Live show on SSR (7pm Fri):
“You and me baby ain’t nothing but mammals, so let’s do it like they do on the discovery channel”
That’s right today is the 20th birthday of the console that helped to define my and many other peoples youth, the Mega Drive! (Genesis if you American), and to celebrate SEGA are offering you the fans to choose which classic game you would like to see next appearing on xbox live arcade, personally I’d love to sea Earthworm Jim and it appears so do a lot of other people.
I’m back, miss me? No? Well maybe I won’t share this news.
Or maybe I will, simply because the animation in this trailer is pure magic, the new Super Monkey Ball game for Wii using the Wii fit board, now you have 2 light hearted SEGA based games to get for it, enjoy.
Happy birthday Sonic! That’s right it’s Sonic’s birthday today along with Eggman who’s looking really worn out for his age, and lets not forget Shadow and Rouge who both turn 8 today… I’m sure there’s more but I think I’ve got the main ones covered.
Anyway what am I going to do in celebration of this momentous event? Well I was planning to do some special site updates for today however as is the way with these things there way behind schedule, and I do mean way behind, ‘sigh’ I’ll finish them eventually… maybe. Enough of my excuses unfortunately I have to work today so I’m rather limited in my celebrating capacity but I do plan on eating some cake along with a glass or two… or ten of port to celebrate true blue reaching the legal drinking age… in the UK… at the moment… I think, there trying to put it up to 21 but I don’t know if they’ve done it yet… any who enough of my rambling.
Happy birthday Sonic, may you have many many more. and don’t drink too much, I doubt it’ll do much good for your running.
Once again another week has rolled past with a location for SOS and more merch for the Americans but nothing for the Europeans as far as I can tell, anyway read on for more. (continue reading…)
It’s been a fairly busy week this week with a pile of Sonic content on the Xbox 360, and a little love for the PS3, anyway here’s this weeks new roundup of whats been going on in the world of Sonic. (continue reading…)
E3 has been and gone now, leaving in its wake, two new motion control systems coming soon from two console manufacturers and more of the same rubbish that they chucked out last year from the third. I’ll leave you guys to decide which presentation I thought was the worst, but it should be pretty clear. Now E3 isn’t just for the big three to pump up there publicity machines its also a time for the third parties to show what they have going on and while SEGA didn’t announce anything new on the Sonic front we were treated to a few bits and peaces, read on for more. (continue reading…)
It’s almost time for E3 again and SEGA decided to get all its big announcements out of the way before the show starts up, rather sensible when you consider that the show is mostly dominated by the console manufacturers and the larger third parties, so of course we got a little bit of news this week… well okay one big bit.
Well it seems SEGA has been busy with the announcement of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing coming 2010 to all the major formats, except for the psp (a shame really since I wouldn’t mind playing it on the psp). I’ll let you guys figure out what its about, but I will give you a video to help.
So is this the “huge Surprise” that was coming Friday that SEGA claimed yesterday? Well for a start its not Friday, and while this is a bit of a surprise to me, it doesn’t fall into the huge surprise category, so in a word no this is not what SEGA was hinting at on Wednesday, but I guess we will find out for certain tomorrow, till then enjoy the trailer. More info after the jump. (continue reading…)
