You know one of the best fake movies I’ve wanted to see over the years has been Chao in Space, you know the one advertised in Sonic games, but I don’t think it’s going to happen until SEGA gets things into gear… for now have this rather interesting rendition.

You know I kind of expected more explosions and alien monsters, or maybe that’s just me hoping for a re-imagining of the Alien movie.

Our friends over at SEGADriven alerted me to this little tidbit a few weeks ago and I promptly grabbed hold of it and have given my ears a VERY good session with it.

Secret Bonus Point ~ a Dynamite Headdy tribute album from Dj Mokram on Vimeo.

I was a BIG Dynamite Headdy fan back in the day, and I was really looking forward to seeing what this album could deliver. As it stands, it’s an absolutely fantastic album, which reeks of pure nostalgia as well as gives a slightly modern feel with all the updated musical tools available.

With a strong 26 tracks, between 14 artists, it has some diversity. Although some artists have hands in multiple tracks, the majority of the album has a very unique feel to it.

One of my favourite tracks, although early in the album (very early, we’re talking track 2), is “Redbot Gives You Wings”, which you can find below. Lots of memories from the opening riff, if you’ve played the game, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Overall, I REALLY like this album, and I suggest to you all to immediately download and give your ears a good dose of awesome.

The music album is available via direct download in .MP3 and .FLAC format from the Secret Bonus Point website.

Feel free to mention in the comments below what your favourite track from the album is!

Titans Creed linked me to this on Friday, and well it seemed perfect for a Sunday Afternoon Sonic update, so enjoy this animated short from AerobianAngel.

I do love how Silver just jumps out the window… coward. Check out more of AerobianAngel’s animations here.

Time to renew the weeks poll for something fresh, and this week I thought I’d ask something a bit closer related to current events. Namely, What version of Sonic game do you prefer to buy? i.e. are you one of these people who will hunt down a special edition like this little gem, or do you prefer the normal bog standard edition?

Your option are:
Special Edition with Super Rare Merch
Game with Exclusive Download codes
Game with random gift
Just the Game

Vote in the usual place on the right hand side. And hit the jump for last weeks results. (continue reading…)

No I’ve not started collecting Sonic Shorts comics into volumes and have already reached 6. This is the far better Sonic Shorts animation bringing together some of the most talented animators in the Sonic community and putting together a series of funny shorts. So enjoy this, as for some reason I haven’t posted this here till now.

It’s Thursday so time to swap over the polls, and this weeks question is, Which Sonic game style do you play the most? It seemed a little too easy to say which you prefer, I Just want to see which one eats peoples time the most, therefore giving them the best longevity.

Your options are:

Big budget: Colours/Generations (you can include Secret rings etc in here as well)

Side Scrollers: Sonic 4/Rush (oh and lets not forget Sonic 1, 2, 3 etc)

Racing: Riders (Allstars racing, drift, Sonic R)

Card Collecting: Sonic Tweet (or puzzle game i.e. Sonic Shuffle)

Vote now in the right hand nav bar! Last weeks results after the jump! (continue reading…)

Those of you who went to Summer of Sonic this year will have had the chance to see this already, but I thought for those of you that didn’t this is as good a place as any. It’s an animated short based on the Sonic the comic series, a good watch for old fleetway fans, or just people with a general curiosity.

Now I’m going to have to read more of the Sonic the comic.
