Well its back to the mill stone for me, I’ll be back to work on Monday, and I plan on ramping things up around here soon enough, in the meantime however what do you guys and gals say to having a look back at what 2009 has brought us in the world of Sonic. (continue reading…)
Two years ago SEGA published a game which brought together the two great plat-forming franchises from the early nineties for an epic clash that turned into probably the best selling game SEGA has ever made, at least for a very long time anyway, and now once again the worlds of Mario and Sonic have collided in the form of the Olympic games, except this time its a bit colder and Canadian.
I am of course talking about Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter games, which was released two weeks ago for the DS and Wii, so it’s about time I reviewed it don’t you think? (continue reading…)
The first M&S on Wii was and is one of the most popular games on the Wii, focusing on who played the Wii and why. The transition to the DS was less favoured as the focused remained on the multiplayer while the DS is more focused on playing single player games on long journeys, hence the popularity of titles like Pokemon.
So has 2 years brought any better luck to the iconic pair? (continue reading…)
Hmm, I a bit spoiled for choice at the moment on what to do for Sunday afternoon Sonic, at last count I have three things I want to highlight to you guys, so which one do I want to go for first? How’s about the most recent one? That makes some sense… I think.
Yes this is a Sonic site, dedicated to all things Sonic, but sometimes you just have to take a moment to talk about something else, and today I’m going to talk about Lets Tap Runner for the iphone.
This is the creation of Mr Yuji Naka one of the men behind the creation of Sonic the hedgehog… wait… that’s my tenuous link to this site so I’m justified. Read on for my impressions. (continue reading…)
It seems someone over at SEGA France (because the French are ‘special’ and don’t come under the SEGA of Europe banner)* has been talking about a big announcement of an upcoming game this Friday.
At this point I thought I’d weigh in with a few thoughts of mine in the hopes of cooling off some of the more rabid amongst us.
Now the initial reaction of a Sonic fan may be, “NEW SONIC GAME COMING FRIDAY 😀 !!!!” (which sums up nicely the comments on this TSSZ article) I’d like to throw a bucket of water on the community before it overheats with speculation about this being a new Sonic game. (continue reading…)
Before I start this review let me diminish the fanboys hopes of me slating this game by saying that I never played any Phantasy Star game before Universe, never played the Universe expansion, and I never played Universe online anyway so I get to judge the game rather neutrally.
On the other side of this coin, I did enjoy Phantasy Star Universe’s single player just didn’t feel it was good enough to pay even more for an online license, so with all that lot out the way lets get to the meat and bones of the review. (continue reading…)
Before I get started with this I want to make a few things clear, yes I’m biased! This is a review of a Sonic game on a Sonic fan site of course its going to be biased, but I’m going to try and approach this from a neutral angle. First off I’m going to try and avoid referring/comparing this game to past Sonic games, I’m going to pretend that this is a completely new game not groaning under the weight of almost 17 years worth of franchise. I’m also going to pretend that I’m the target audience i.e. a child (except with better spelling and writing ability), not a 20 something fan boy with no date tonight… this shouldn’t be too hard since I’m constantly being told to grow up. Right I don’t know how long I can keep myself in this state of mind so lets get started.
With no warning or even hint, Sonic Team have released their first Downloadable level pack for Sonic Unleashed (at the time of writing only for Xbox, but assumed to come to PSN soon). The description states you get 4 new Day levels and 2 new Night levels, and at only 250 MS points is it a bargain? (continue reading…)
