Over the last few years SEGA have been re-releasing collections of old Sonic games for various platforms, and then you have the downloadable versions for the consoles/phones, so you can see why fans are getting a little tired of them. This year it’s Sonic Classic Collection for the DS, okay I’ll give SEGA credit for picking a console they haven’t released these games on before (unless you count the abysmal port of Sonic 1 to the GBA about four years ago).
The question is it good? Or is it another slapped together re-release to cash in on some of the back catalogue… again. (continue reading…)
Where have I been? Don’t ask!
Anyway remember when we put up this trailer?
Well SEGA kindly gave both me and Vger a copy (see another post somewhere) but because Vger doesn’t like the Wii I decided I would try it, so let’s get down to the Nitty Gritty of it all! (continue reading…)
Last weekend I was lucky enough to get the chance to preview Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing, but before I get started on my impressions of the game I’d like to note that the build I played is not the final one, and also the Xbox 360’s were operating in a highly humid environment with two of them already rendered inoperable by the time we got there, and as anyone who has a 360 can testify to they can be highly temperamental at the best of times. I say this now so that people fully understand the circumstances of this demo and not make any wild assumptions about the quality of the final product.
Now that that is out the way with hit the jump for my first impressions. (continue reading…)
Now I don’t pretend to be an expert on roller-coasters, far from it, my experience extends as far as visiting a few theme parks and hours of time wasted on Roller-coaster Tycon (the first one, all later versions are rubbish), however roller-coasters are one of my passions. Perhaps a passion I don’t indulge in as much as I should but if I did then I’d have no time to keep track of the goings on in the world of Sonic (it’s a full time job… on top of a full time job).
As you should have noticed by now, I go the opportunity to have a go on the new Sonic Spinball ride at Alton Towers over the weekend and so what follows are a few of my thoughts on the ride. (continue reading…)
After my trip to SOS last year I’ve been resting up a bit, but I’ve finally decided to come back out of hiding for a little trip SEGA invited me along to something about a new roller-coaster and a themed room, once again I was accompanied by my handler/photographer Vger, I really need to hire someone else, his inside jacket pocket is way too small for me.
Well no but then if you only lived off Sonic the Hedgehog games you’d be missing some true gems out there. So here is a new little section I’m setting up in order to help you guys sift through the rubbish that gets released and find something more a kin to your personal taste.

So while you can just do ya thing and enter a piece of artwork with £1 to get some prizes there is also other ways you can get some stuff. (continue reading…)
It’s been another turbulent week for news relating to the upcoming SEGA and Sumo Digital racing game with more reveals and a few gafs along the way, once again I’ve decided to sum up what we know now.
To be honest (and this is on a personal note) the reaction of the fanbase to Project Needlemouse worries me. I’ll try and keep this as short as possible.
Be ye warned, this is a rant, if ye don’t like reading, or simply reading people’s venting, pass on!
There has been an avalanche of news articles for the mouthful that is Sonic and SEGA All-stars Racing this week, with reveals, denials, more reveals and then retractions of said reveals. This may have left some people wondering what’s up from from down, so it falls to Emerald Coast the last bastion of reliability to cut away the lies and reveal what’s true, what’s false and what’s rumour, at least for now. Read on for the full article. (continue reading…)
