Today marked a rather sad day for British gaming. British gaming studio Bizarre Creations have closed down. Known for a lrage libary of quality games, including the Project Gotham Racing series, Geometry Wars and of course the SEGA title The Club, it is a shame that these games in most cases did not sell as well as they deserved. While I can’t say the studio was particularly dear to… whatever I have in place of a heart, they will be remembered, and it is a shame for us to loss one of the decent developers in the UK. Sadly it is only one duff game that can cause them to go, and Blur was sadly that game for them.
While their new 007 game has come out with music from one of our favourite composers, Richard Jacques, they leave us with one last thing, this video.

RIP Bizarre Creations, may your games lvie on in the minds of gamers for years to come.

A few of you probably wondered what happened to the promised DtN update on the 4th February. Well… You could say I’ve been busy. Very busy. There’s a lot I’ve got in store for you guys, and not just over here on EC. Keep your eyes peeled for updates very, very soon!

Onto the DtN news… I am happy to finally reveal the title and cover image for the new Dream to Nightmare comic.  The new saga is Urtheart’s Dream – Project T-84575. What does this mean? Who is that in the background? Where is Dread? Why is there no Blake porn on this front cover? Why does Bman look so evil? And who is that new (and oh so sexual) character below him? All will be revealed… When I get my arse into gear and finish the first comic. You won’t want to miss it!

DtN2 is here!

DISCLAIMER: The lateness of this update has nothing at all to do with Zombies mode on Call of Duty.

It seems that Archie is trying something new with Sonic for the upcoming 225th issue of Sonic the Hedgehog revealing via IGN an alternate cover (a fairly common practice in the comic industry to try and get fans to waste more money).

The interesting thing is it depicts and dead arm on the floor, who’s arm could it be? Will one of the cast be kicking the bucket? Let the wild speculation commence! (in the comments section) (continue reading…)

It’s now no longer Valentines Day anywhere in the world, and I can confirm that someone got the answer to the spot question exactly right!

I started the show on Round 22. If you listen to the Livestream, you’ll notice that I mention I am on round 23 about two minutes in. HOWEVER… You can hear the round changing right at the start of the stream, meaning I technically started one level earlier! I also showed I was on level 33 (changing to 34) once I got the fifth perk at the end of a monkey round. This means the correct answer to our spot question was 12, and Alex373 nailed it exactly! Congratulations! Send me an email at deathanchor *at* hotmail.co.uk with your postal details so I can send you your prize, dude! Thanks to all the others that entered too – Normal EC Airwaves services will resume shortly…

Oh yeah… Sorry DtN is late. Too much uni work and other things going on. Expect an update soon!

Because we forgot to do this on air… Whoops.

As a little bit of fun, we want you to guess how many levels I completed on Ascension from the start of the show to the end. There’s clues in the Livestream if you missed the show. We were going to make you guess what level I was on when the show finished, but the Livestream gives that away. 😉 The closest guess gets a prize… Namely something Sonic related from my merch haul. Haven’t decided yet, but it’ll be a figure or plushie of some description. One clue I will give you is that I did NOT start at level one – I was a bit higher than that when we went live! Comment on this post with your guess by the end of tomorrow (14th February) and the closest guess wins the prize. All it takes to enter is a number, so comment away!

Oh yes, one entry per person only… Or else Richtofen will gut you with the Bowie knife and bathe naked in your blood. DO NOT DISPLEASE HIM!

It’s been over half a year now, but Summer of Sonic still has things being related from the year gone by, and of course we are preping for this years events.

During the SoS10 Roareye Black was on the floor to create a video to showcase just what made Summer of Sonic the event it is, along with Discoponies from the Sonic Show.
So here for your enjoyment is just under and hours worth of film from SoS10, including Vger’s Wrecks Factor forfeit, Crush 40’s concert excerpts, and interviews with both Nemain, officially dubbed the Merch Queen by Roareye, and Vger, dubbed the man with the Mansion Pad.

EC Airwaves will continue tomorrow despite there being no Vger around (he’s gone on Holiday) so Urth’s taking over again, with the help of Nemain.

This week, with it being Valentine’s day the next day we’re going to be doing the obvious topic, ZOMBIES!

Nemain might be a wee bit obssesed... we still luffs her

Join the two Zombie crew leaders as we relate some of the games with the rest of the new recruits and explain why Zombies is a pretty decent game, despite us not actually like CoD at all.
Even better, we hope to let you join in, and possibly have a spot prize or two for you lot.

Join us at 1900 GMT either on SSR or Livestream for at least an hour of pure madness.

EDIT: Yes, Spin, Urth is a total ghey and got stuck in a timewarp. I BLAME THE GOVERNMENT. ~ Nemain

Okay this was announced over on Sonic Wrecks a few days ago but I seem to always get distracted when I want to write a post at the moment so I’ve finally caught a break to do this.

As you should all know EC Airwaves returned to SEGA Sonic Radio earlier this year and now that triumphant* return is up on Sonic Wrecks for all to listen to, click here and click the sixth episode link.

A big thanks to Sonic Wrecks for hosting it.

*pending approval from a jury of my piers.
