As many will know tomorrow is national talk like a pirate day, and to celebrate, I will be joining Urtheart on SSR tonight along with several other SSR DJs to do some pirate stuff… err I don’t know, rape pillage… wait drink, yes there will be much drinking of rum and other nautical related drinks… what can I say I have a soft spot for Port.
So don’t forget to tune in from 9pm BST for a two hour special!

Today seems to be a very busy day for SEGA and Sonic, with it being the 10th birthday of the Dreamcast (EC Airwaves special episode tonight don’t forget to tune it at 8pm BST), and the announcement of a back to the roots Sonic game that’s looking to give the old school Sonic fans what they have been asking for, for the last god knows how many years. The teaser doesn’t give us much to go on other than it being back to 2D, in high definition (yay not on the wii!) and built from the ground up, view the trailer for yourself.
Yup, that’s right I’m doing one more radio show for this season and then I’m going to take a break to get a few things in order, but not to fret I’m going out with a bang! Because tomorrow is a very big day, tomorrow is the day when the Dreamcast turns 10 years old and I plan on celebrating.

It’s that time again where I dash off to London for a few days to meet up with fellow Sonic fans in the community… yup that’s right it’s Summer of Sonic time, so I’m not going to be around for the next few days which prevents me from doing any updates to the site (not that I would do anyway it’s the weekend!).
However I have recently discovered the joys/addictiveness of Twitter and combining this new hobby with the most powerful mobile device on the planet (iphone) I am going to be tweeting my Summer of Sonic Journey for all to read/see… depending on my 3G signal, and though the magic of the internet you can view the latest updates right here on Emerald Coast!
So if you can’t come to the event why not keep up to date with what’s going on through my twitter, and if you are going to make it try and catch me at some point so you can your photo taken with Tails who will be joining me on my journey.
Quick heads up to people about tomorrows EC Airwaves, I’ll be talking about the Summer of Sonic, since it seems to be about the only thing worth talking about at the moment.
That’s right today is the 20th birthday of the console that helped to define my and many other peoples youth, the Mega Drive! (Genesis if you American), and to celebrate SEGA are offering you the fans to choose which classic game you would like to see next appearing on xbox live arcade, personally I’d love to sea Earthworm Jim and it appears so do a lot of other people.
I’d like to take a moment to announce a brand new affiliate to Emerald Coast, Sonic Style.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sonic Style its a big repository for Sonic media, with its own regular podcast Sonic Billboard where you the Sonic fan get to vote for your current favourite Sonic tracks all well worth a look… and listen.
All right time to write an EC Airwaves update, I’ll have more luck with this than comic work at the moment… don’t ask.
OK Wednesdays topic shall be cos-play and its role in the Sonic community, are they crazed lunatics or artists with a needle and thread? Got any thoughts on this then make yourself heard in the irc or email your thoughts and I’ll read your thoughts out during the show.
There will also be much talk of SoS and 80’s music.
