If you lot are at all like me then, you will waste hours of your life trying to get achievements to add to a generic number which has absolutely no bearing or usefulness in real life, and what’s more you will enjoy doing it! Is there some innate pleasure in making a number larger? It doesn’t mean anything other than prove you have way too much time and money on your hands…

Is it just me or is Tails just a little out of proportion in this picture?

Well its time to start planning your play through of ASR as they have just posted the achievements list, I think this could be the one… the one where I finally get 1000 points in a game, hit the jump for the list. (continue reading…)

Not a week goes by now that a new video for Allstars Racing doesn’t go up, and this week is shaping up to be no different.

Playr are even kind enough to provide five reasons why Allstars racing is better than Mario Kart, and I can’t really argue with them… and before people write that off as a Sonic fan dissing the Mario Kart series, I’d like to note that I love Mario Kart DS so there all valid points… especially the last one.

Quick note this video isn’t available if your sitting outside of the UK and US, tough luck guys.

I like All Stars Racing, I’m really looking forward to All Stars Racing, I’m pretty much counting the days until it’s release over here, but this new trailer drives me up the wall (thank god there isn’t a way to embed it here). The trailer explains how too play the Wii version but I find myself desperately resisting the urge not to hit the screen, the people talking an ‘Alex,’ and ‘Jen,’ two university dropouts that can only make money by appearing in badly scripted game adverts, just rub me the wrong way. I think it’s when they do that thing where they open there mouths and make sounds out of it.

I never realised how good disembodied voice overs on game adverts were until now, please SEGA for the love of all that is good don’t use these two again, however if you mute the sound or stick your fingers in your ears and sing loudly its good trailer.

Once again click here, and remember actors have to eat too even the really rubbish ones.

It seems that were finally going to find something about Project Needlemouse, but unfortunately it seems the community is going to have to work for it… oh god were doooomed!

Okay so what’s going on?

SEGA of America has created an image with potential playable characters in Needlemouse, however not all of them are going to make it, and each day this week SEGA is going to update the image showing rejections for the ones that haven’t made it. For Mondays image see above.

Now it seems that the number of characters eliminated each day is related to he number of correct answers SEGA receives for certain questions, and each day this week a new set of questions will be posted, so Mondays questions are as follows:

1: In Sonic 1, how many rings were needed at the end of an act to enter a special stage?
2: How many emeralds were in the original Sonic 1 for Genesis / Mega Drive?
3: What colours were these emeralds?

Hmm a nice easy start, but for those of you who don’t know go look it up and make sure you get it right we need 100 correct 3/3 answers!

So, go to the Sonic blog now and answer these as best you can in the comments section, and with a lot of luck we might get the community to do something useful for once, come on go now!

The Dutch site SEGA Online seem to have stumbled across something interesting, an image from an anonymous source showing Sonic Adventure in an xbox live type setup.

Now normally I’d dismiss has a rumour or hoax, but after the leaked documents relating to a discussion between SEGA and Sony last year which included mention of Dreamcast games for download, I’m inclined to give it a bit more thought, still I’m sceptical this could have easily been faked. If true, it would make a lot of fans happy as the first proper 3D Sonic game that set the stage for the coming years it was very well received at the time.

There has been an avalanche of news articles for the mouthful that is Sonic and SEGA All-stars Racing this week, with reveals, denials, more reveals and then retractions of said reveals. This may have left some people wondering what’s up from from down, so it falls to Emerald Coast the last bastion of reliability to cut away the lies and reveal what’s true, what’s false and what’s rumour, at least for now. Read on for the full article. (continue reading…)

A very special Christmas trailer for fans waiting for Allstars racing, featuring a nice little Christmas song, no sign of NiGHTS though.

Well it seems Rare’s big bear with a bird for a backpack has been finally officially been confirmed for Sonic and SEGA Allstars Racing, and to top things off there’s a new trailer, which if you watch very closely will reveal a few other things… nothing NiGHTS related though.
