It’s that time again to dig deep and help out the less fortunate with sport relief, and what better way is there to do that by supporting sonic relief.
This time round things are a bit different, not only do they want to get art submissions (the theme being sonic and sport, who would have guessed?) they would also like you to make a small contribution of a pound with each entry, which is only fair as there is a prize at the end and it all goes towards a good cause.
So go on, get those sporty entries in now and donate here, at the moment there up to a whopping £128 but lets see if we can get that a little bit higher shall we? All submissions should be sent to shadzter@sonicstadium.org along with some proof of donation, read here for more information.
Okay I’ll admit it, I’m a regular over at the Escaptist website, I just love all the videos they produce, and now imagine my joy when I find that Unskippable, the weekly show which dubs over the intro sequences to games in the style of mystery science theatre 3000 did the intro for Sonic Unleashed, watch below and share in the wonders I have seen.
Yup, believe it or not there is more than one Emerald Coast on the net, what’s more there’s two that deal in the trade of Sonic fan comics… imagine that (actually there’s 3 but ones on freewebs so it doesn’t count).
There can only be one True Emerald Coast.
So in the interests on making sure people don’t get confused I’m going to point out the differences between the sites. (continue reading…)
As some of you may know Bentley Jones has a new CD coming out soon, in fact it’s out tomorrow, so I thought I should just remind you that you really should take the time to go to Bentley’s website and order it from there, for £8 before postage and a signed photo for pre-orders it’s a bargain. If that’s not enough then have a watch of this marvellous music video, no bunnies are included in the final CD however.
Sonic the Comic was a long running series published in the UK from 1993 and unfortunately met a rather sad end in 2002 with 223 issues. However that wasn’t really the end, a group of fans got together and decided to continue the series in an online form and has now in the past week released it’s 250th edition.
You know that Sonic costume I mentioned last week? No? Well go back and read the article now! Anyway, it seems someone was idiotic enough to actually buy one of them, worse still he was caught on TV wearing it and a darts show no less!?!
I’m not here right now please leave a message after the beep… yes I wrote this message in the past. Currently I’m enjoying my Christmas break, but I didn’t want to leave you guys high and dry with nothing to do… why are you here reading this instead of enjoying some quality family time!
Anyway I’ve been trawling Newgrounds recently and come across Night of the Warhog by Evil Doc, originally produced for last year around Christmas I thought it would make an appropriately festive Sunday Afternoon Sonic, so go enjoy and don’t worry that’s not the real Santa that’s just an actor.
Now I know I’ve done SSR (SEGA Sonic Radio) here before… or at least I think I have… it gets very hard to keep track of things after a while. Where was I? Oh yeah SSR, well there’s a very good reason to listen in today, in fact there’s several good reason. I think it’s best if I just give you a line up of shows for today, (all times are UK GMT).
1PM – Blitz & Pieces – ok there is nothing special about this weeks show from previous weeks but it is a very enjoyable show with amazing Sonic remixes even I never heard before.
4PM – DJ Darkspeeds – yeah that crazy Aussie with a perpetual motion machine for a heart is back on SSR and this weeks show is very special as he’s interviewing a guest… no it’s not me that was last week… I’m talking about Mike Pollock aka the current voice of Dr. Eggman, truely this is a show not to be missed out on.
6-7PM start – Radio Redux 2009 Wrecks Factor – the last show of the season (everyone say aww) featuring the now regular Sonic fan singing contest the Wrecks Factor which will make life very interesting… especially when they get to my entry (ear plugs are a necessity). I’m not sure when it’s starting, it normally starts around 7 but since the Sonic hour isn’t on this week AAUK may start earlier in order to get this done.So that’s today’s line up… pretty awesome isn’t it? So if your free head along and listen to these shows here, or head here for the new irc chat client and SSR player rolled into one!
It seems those mad NiGHTS fans DiGi and TRiPPY from NiGHTS into Dreams are up to something, I don’t know what but there doing a very special broadcast on livestream tomorrow night at 8pm GMT which I’m reliably informed (not at gun point) is very important and that I should get the message out so that people will tune in.
So here I am telling you lot to tune in, or suffer the consequences! (Consequences have yet to be determined but may involve the Pyro)
It seems that the good fellows over at SEGA Sonic Radio have decided to do a 24 hour podcast this Sunday (15th November)… no its not going to be Darkspeeds talking about how awesome Summer of Sonic was (which it was) for 24 hours solid as he is the only person I know who has enough energy to do it. Instead a few radio DJ’s have got together to take turns in doing a show… including myself. Yup that’s right EC Airwaves will be returning for a two hour special tentatively titled at ‘Wake up to Vger’ this Sunday from 7-9am GMT.
Emerald Coast 6.4 is a Vger production 2005-2011. EC is powered by ground up Chao and pony's, the grey Chaos Emerald (aka the evil one), magic and Wordpress.
